Dear Family and Friends:
This communication follows a call you should have received recently from the Facility related to COVID-19. As you know, health care providers across the country are facing unique challenges in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. I am writing to advise families and resident representatives that yesterday we have had one resident test positive for COVID-19. This resident is being cared for at a local hospital. At this time, we have not had any staff members test positive for COVID-19.
The resident who tested positive had been tested previously with all other residents on July and tested negative. We will be testing all residents and staff again in accordance with CDC and local regulatory instructions. We will provide an update once we have the results of that testing.
The Facility is following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) related to infection control and prevent at nursing facilities. Helpful information can be found on the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/long-term-care.html.
All residents are monitored daily for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. Residents experiencing signs and symptoms are placed on isolation precautions and tested (where indicated by the county health department and/or their physician). All staff are wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with CDC guidelines, including eyewear, masks, gowns, and gloves. Visitors has been excluded from the building except in certain, very limited circumstances such as end of life situations and essential deliveries. All staff and visitors are screened for signs of illness upon entrance to the facility in accordance with CDC guidelines.
The Facility will continue to keep our family members informed. We will be sending Facility updates via email at least weekly. Please make sure the Facility has a current email on file for you and any other family members you wish to receive these communications. We will also be posting information on the COVID updates page of our website at taborcrest.com.
We appreciate your continued support as we fight to keep our residents and staff safe. If you have any questions, please contact me at 503 771 8058.
