Dear Residents, Representatives, and Families:
As you know, health care providers across the country are facing unique challenges in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. I am writing to advise residents, representatives, and families that today we learned that a resident tested positive for COVID-19. The resident is currently out of the community, and upon return will be isolated in their apartment.
We have obtained testing supplies and will be testing all residents and staff in the next 24 hours, and expect results within 1-2 days from then. We request that all residents remain in their apartments, and wear appropriate PPE any time they leave their apartment.
The community is following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) related to infection control and prevention at senior living communities. Helpful information can be found on the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/long-term-care.html.
All staff are wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with CDC guidelines, including eyewear, masks, gowns, and gloves. Visitors has been excluded from the building except in certain, very limited circumstances such as end of life situations on a case-by-case basis. All staff and visitors are screened for signs of illness upon entrance to the facility in accordance with CDC guidelines.
The community will continue to keep our family members informed. We appreciate your continued support as we fight to keep our residents and staff safe. If you have any questions, please contact me at 503-771-8058 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Sincerely, Lacra Radulescu, RN
